Description
Blue jays get written off as loud backyard bullies, but they're actually one of the reasons we have oak forests at all. They cache thousands of acorns every fall and forget enough of them that entire groves have sprouted from a single jay's pantry. I drew this one in pastel pencil, working to catch that fluffed-up, watchful look they get when they're sizing up a branch before landing.
