Great Horned Owl Eye • Hand Drawn Limited Edition Print • 8x10
Description
Great horned owls have eyes so large they can't move them in their sockets, which is why owls turn their heads the way they do. Relative to their size those eyes are enormous, close to the size of our own in a head a fraction as big. Getting that yellow iris to glow without going flat took more layers of pastel pencil than I expected, but that stare was the whole reason I drew it.
This print is a high quality reproduction of my original pastel pencil study from the Eyes of the Wild series. It holds the soft blends and fine feather detail of the original.
