Jackson’s Chameleon • Hand Drawn Limited Edition Print • 8x10

Jackson's chameleons look like tiny triceratops, and that's not an accident of my imagination. The males grow three real horns they use to spar with rivals, gently shoving each other off branches rather than fighting. Between the horns, the independently swiveling eyes, and scales that shift color with mood and temperature, this was one of the most entertaining subjects I've drawn. I worked in pastel pencil to build up the texture of all those tiny scales.
