The curtain opens today, Saturday, October 10 at 5 pm Eastern

Behind it is a wheel with 41 spots, and they go first come, first served. Pitch me an idea for my next drawing. If the wheel lands on yours, I draw it and the original is yours.

🎟️ Rules of the Wheel

You have an idea. I have pencils. The wheel gets the final say.

📜 The Short Version (TL;DR)

  • Send me one animal or nature idea to draw, 25 characters or less.
  • Free to enter. One entry per person and email. 18+ and U.S. only.
  • Kinds of animals are great, your specific pet is not as great.
  • Up to 41 spots. If two people send the same idea, the first one gets the spot.
  • Entries close Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 10:00 AM Eastern, or sooner if all 41 spots fill.
  • Every idea on the wheel gets one equal slice and the exact same chance. The winner is picked at random by a secure computer, not by me. No favorites, no do-overs, and I can’t choose or change the result.
  • After entries close, I spin the wheel once. That one spin picks the winner.
  • The winner gets an original artwork inspired by their idea (approximately $600; art valuation is subjective), shipped free in the U.S.
  • You own the original. I keep the art rights, like making prints.
  • Entering adds you to my email list. Unsubscribe anytime.

🖊️ Who’s running this?

🎨 Give me something to draw.

Submit an animal species, landscape, or other nature-inspired idea in 25 characters or less.

Dogs? Absolutely. Cats? Sure. Capybara? Please.

Just no specific pets or individual animal likenesses. “Golden Retriever” works. “My Golden Retriever, Steve” does not.

People, characters, logos, brands, offensive submissions, and anything completely off topic won’t make it onto the wheel.

🎟️ One person. One ticket. One idea.

One entry per person and email address. Extra entries from the same person don’t count, even with a different email. No purchase necessary. You must be 18 or older and live in the United States to enter.

Parents and guardians can enter an idea from their kids using the adult’s own email address.

👪 Friends and family welcome.

My friends and family can enter like anyone else, with no special treatment. Anyone who helps run this giveaway or pick the winner can’t enter. If I believe any entry has an unfair advantage, I may remove it.

🏃 First one there gets the spot.

Each idea can appear on the wheel only once. If two or more people submit the same or nearly the same idea, the earliest eligible entry gets that spot. Later duplicates won’t be added.

🎡 Up to 41 spots.

Entries close when all 41 spots are approved or at 10:00 AM Eastern on Sunday, October 25, 2026, whichever comes first.

If fewer than 41 ideas are approved by then, the wheel is split evenly between however many there are. With 22 ideas, the wheel has 22 equal slices.

I review every submission before it gets a spot on the wheel and can reject anything that doesn’t follow these rules.

🍀 Then comes the fun part. One spin.

After entries close, I spin the wheel one time. That one spin picks the winner. No practice rounds, no do-overs.

The winning slice is picked at random by a secure computer, not by me. I press start, but I can’t pick, preview, or redo the result. It was tested over hundreds of thousands of practice draws to make sure every slice comes up equally often. Before the draw, the list of ideas is locked, so nothing can be added, removed, or changed.

The official drawing happens after entries close. I’ll post the date and time on this page before it happens, and the result stays here so everyone can replay the exact same spin.

Every approved entry gets one equal-sized slice of the wheel and the same chance on that spin: 1 in however many ideas made it on. With 22 ideas, that’s 1 in 22. With all 41 spots filled, it’s 1 in 41.

🏆 What do you win?

I draw the winning idea!

The winner receives one original artwork inspired by the winning idea. Approximate retail value: $600. That’s my estimate of what the original would sell for. Art valuation is subjective, and its actual or perceived value may vary. It isn’t a price list for future commissions.

I keep full artistic control over the size and medium, the composition and style, how I interpret the idea, and how the finished piece is presented. This is an original artwork inspired by your idea, not a traditional commission or a custom pet portrait, so it doesn’t include revisions.

The original artwork will be completed and shipped within 45 calendar days after the winner responds to the congratulations email and provides a valid U.S. shipping address.

Shipping within the United States is free. How long delivery takes after it ships is up to the carrier.

I’ll email the winner within 7 days of the drawing. You’ll have 7 days to reply with a U.S. shipping address. If I can’t reach you, you don’t reply in time, or you’re not eligible, the wheel may spin again for a new winner.

🖼️ You get the original. I keep the art rights.

The winner owns the physical original artwork. I keep the copyright and all reproduction rights, including the right to make prints, merchandise, and other reproductions.

Submitting an idea doesn’t give you ownership or royalties. And if you give me a really good idea, don’t be surprised if I decide to draw it someday even if it doesn’t win.

📬 About your email.

Your email is how I tell you if you win. Entering also signs you up for occasional emails from aGuyWithMSthatDraws about my artwork, new releases, and shop updates. No spam, and I won’t sell your email. You can unsubscribe anytime without affecting your entry.

I may share the winner’s first name and winning idea. I never post anyone’s email address.

🔧 The boring-but-important part.

If fraud, technical problems, or something outside my control keeps the giveaway from running fairly, I can change, pause, or cancel it.

The winner is responsible for any taxes on the prize.

No purchase necessary. 18+. U.S. only. Void where prohibited. This giveaway isn’t sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, Facebook, Meta, or Shopify.

That’s it. Find an idea worthy of the wheel. 🎡

What should I draw next?

Tell me what you'd love to see me draw. Once entries close, I spin the wheel once, right here on this page, and that spin picks the winner. I'll reach out by email, and the original drawing ships free.

Friends and family are welcome to enter too. They're a big part of how I got here, and I want them along for the ride. Their ideas get the same one spot and the same odds as everyone else's.
